DDI ONLINE
DDIMAG.COM, the initial on-line version of DDI magazine, was begun in the spring of 1997. Conceived by the publishers of DDI. It was programmed, designed and hosted from a location in Las Vegas, Nevada until February of 2003.

Initially, DDIMAG.COM was created as an alternative to the printed magazine. Over the years, many of our DDI readers complained that due to their particular circumstances they were quite capable of buying our magazine, but not able to possess it and use it as a reference for any length of time. The submissive, masochistic, or fetishistic sexual fantasies these gentlemen felt were utmost secrets. It was not reasonable to keep a copy of DDI in their briefcase or office desk drawer, especially if they had an overly efficient secretary. Neither was it practical to hide DDI at home if their wives or live-in girlfriends were unaware of their secret sexuality. These fellows would buy DDI, look through it frantically for an hour, or maybe a day, then dispose of it for fear of it being found in their possession!

DDIMAG.COM in its previous life was intended almost entirely for this individual. He needed a quick, clean, evidence-free source for making contact with dominas. By plunking down his modest monthly, or yearly, subscription fee and memorizing his user name and passcode, he gained 24/7 access to all of DDI's advertisers, plus added information on the B&D equipment and fetish wardrobe of each mistress, DDI feature articles, and our exclusive Domina Files bios of mistresses from the past. All of this was available at the touch of his computer keyboard. Yet, when his secretary rang that his two o'clock appointment had arrived he could erase all proof of his secret fantasies with the click of a mouse!

Remember that in 1997 very few individual dominas had their own Web sites. Likewise, sites that listed mistress resources, such as Max Fisch and others, were still in their infancies. The subscriber-based version of DDIMAG.COM served a valid and valuable purpose during the first half of its tenure. By the year 2000, however, a majority of professional dominas were self-empowered with their own Web presence and the Max Fisch-style sites with free access were growing exponentially. DDIMAG.COM, as it was configured then, saw a slow demise in the number of subscribers using the site for mistress contacts.

The one thing DDIMAG.COM had, which all other mistress' Web sites lacked, was a profound resource of imagery and information about dominant mistresses who plied their trade before the era of the Internet. Our Domina Files segment was, and still is, the most comprehensive report on dominant women from the past ever published, either on line or in print. When DDIMAG.COM began, the site's mistress directory was what everyone raved about. As we hit the new millennium it was our Domina Files department that everyone came back to, month after month. This was such a popular aspect of the early version of our Web site that we have saved those files and are slowly updating and expanding them in print form for DDI magazine. They will not, however, continue to be a part of this new version of DDIMAG.COM.

The intention of this new DDI site is to deliver important information to our DDI readers and advertisers. For instance, we have publishing deadline dates and complete advertising information available for dominas thinking of advertising in DDI magazine. There's also our new, free-access mistress-contact directory, an added benefit to our DDI magazine advertisers. There's also our on-line marketplace, where you can buy DDI and other B&D-and-fetish magazines and videos. You can also check out our subscription offer! Best of all, it's all free!

Are we streamlining? Absolutely! Are we keeping up with the times? You bet! Mostly what we have done with this new and improved version of DDIMAG.COM is to produce a constant, on-line reference that complements our most important job—publishing and distributing DDI magazine!
